The site-specific SWMS your crew signs on their phones.

Build it on your phone for this job's site. Your crew reads it and signs on their own phones. Send it to the builder with a record that it arrived.

SWMS Link is launching soon. We'll email you when it's ready.

What it does

Three things, built for the phone in your pocket.

  1. A tradie in a hi-vis shirt sits in a white ute outside a house build, checking his phone, his hard hat on the dashboard

    Build it

Pick the job, answer a few questions about the site, and most of the SWMS fills in: tasks, steps, controls, PPE, the nearest emergency department, your state's high-risk work list word for word. Check it and finalise.

    • About three pages for a one-task job
    • Your state's rules, not a template
  2. Gloved hands hold a phone showing the SWMS Link screen for signing with a White Card, a timber-framed house behind

    Your crew signs on

Your crew opens the SWMS on their own phones, reads the steps for their work and signs on with a tap. No paper. No app to download. Every signature is kept against the exact version they read.

    • White Card details saved once, reused on every site
    • A new version asks everyone to sign again
    • A live sign-on register for the supervisor
  3. In a site office, a subcontractor shows the builder's site manager the SWMS on his phone

    Send it to the builder

Send the builder a link and the PDF from your phone. See when it was opened and when they marked it received. Builder uses a site app? Upload the PDF as usual.

    • Every version kept, every signature against it
Two workers walk onto a housing estate in the early morning, past timber frames, teal shade cloth on the fences and a white ute

Every job gets a SWMS written for its site.

Built from the address, the job you pick and your answers about the site, with your state's own rules.

Why builders send generic SWMS back
A supervisor holding a clipboard arrives at the gate of a house build with edge protection around the roof

Why builders send SWMS back

Builders are asking for SWMS written for their site, and they can tell a template at a glance.

Sent back

  • A generic template with another job's address on it
  • Twenty pages nobody reads
  • Signatures on paper that prove nothing

What SWMS Link makes

  • This site's address and the nearest hospital
  • Only the high-risk steps for this job, each with its safety sign
  • Crew signed on electronically against the exact version they read

What is SWMS Link?

SWMS Link is a web app for Australian trade businesses. It makes a short, site-specific Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) on your phone, gets your crew signed on electronically with their White Card details, and sends the SWMS to the builder with a record that it arrived.

Do I need a SWMS for this job?

You need a SWMS before anyone starts high-risk construction work, such as work where someone could fall more than 2 metres, work near energised electrical installations, or a trench deeper than 1.5 metres. SWMS Link shows your state's full list, word for word, and tells you when none of it applies.

What makes a SWMS site-specific?

It's written for one job at one address. SWMS Link builds it from the site address and your answers about that site, such as heights, asbestos, nearby services and today's conditions.

Will my builder accept it?

Builders send generic SWMS back. SWMS Link builds yours from the site's address and today's conditions, and includes what the WHS Regulations ask for. The builder still makes the final call. If they ask for a change, edit it and send a new version. New versions are free.

Does my crew need to download an app?

No. Workers open a link on their phone, read their steps and sign on in the browser. They can save their details for next time or continue as a guest.

When does SWMS Link launch?

Soon. It's in early access now. Joining the list is free, and pilot testers get their first 3 SWMS free.
